Preparations Underway for Ballydehob 10k 2014

The annual Ballydehob 10km, centred around the St Patrick’s festivities in mid March, is taking place on Sunday 16th 2014.

New to 2014 is a 3km run for children and for those who want to try a run but are not yet ready for the 10km distance.

The accurately measured 10km run offers chip timing, with the option to enter as a runner or a walker. The beautiful scenic route takes runners and walkers along small rural roads, sheltered coastline and historic locations. Starting at the edge of the village of Ballydehob, the route passes alongside the beautiful harbour of Rossbrin with its 500 year old castle and small boats, and finishes on a downhill stretch passing beneath the route of the old Schull and Skibbereen railway and towards the picturesque 12 arch bridge across the estuary at Ballydehob.

Walkers set off at 10.45 ahead of the runners at 11.00.

The 3km run starts at 11.15

The first 100 runners and 10 walkers across the line will receive one of the coveted Ballydehob 10k t-shirts to take home to the four corners of the globe.
